P-51D “Sweet Thing” by Great Planes

                                 First Flight: October 2, 2001

I bought this airplane at Phil’s Hobby shop in Fort Wayne, IN. during October 1999 after being out of the hobby for 28 years. The airplane was a great airplane to build after a 28-year layoff. I used the following Equipment:

·OS FS-70 Surpass Four Stroke Engine
·Dave Brown Mechanical Retracts
·10 ounce Sullivan fuel tank
·Du-Bro fuel filler valve
·Futaba T6XA 6 channel Radio Equipment.
·Five rolls of Top Flight MonoKote. Two silver one each red, white and black

The airplane has had four minor crashes and one major repairable crash but is still flying like a dream after over 100 fights in the past six years. I finally removed the retract system and went with fixed gear because of landing and taking off from heavy grass
